Joe is a local diver who has been enjoying the areas coastal, beach and island diving as a certified scuba diver since 1968. He participates in all types of diving from beach diving, underwater photography in exotic locations, to technical and wreck diving. Our local diving opportunities offer beautiful reefs, kelp forests, rigs to wrecks and a variety of spectacular sea life can be enjoyed at these exciting dive sites. Jacques Cousteau (and the rest of us) consider these islands the best temperate climate diving in the world. Joe is active with the local dive clubs, including serving as the Membership Director for Channel Islands Divers. Joe is committed to safe and responsible diving practices including a respectful stewardship of our oceans and planet.

Bob Cartier

Bob Cartier is our new reservation person for the Sunfish dive boat for all open boats and charters. Bob has been a water person all his life always living by the ocean. Bob began diving in 1976 being certified as a NAUI diver by Charlie Curtis. He was almost completely out of diving for 18 years, then in the 90’s he started getting back into diving. Bob joined the Channel Island Divers dive club in 2002 and has been a board member the past few years.
Around late 2007, Bob says, a light went on inside his head and he decide to take the advanced dive class at Ventura College to meet some more divers, learn new things and be forced to dive for a grade. He already knew of the Sunfish, but also found out that the class used the Sunfish. Now this is where Bob really decided in joining the Sunfish crew. He liked the boat and recently retired from the Motion Picture and TV industry as a transportation coordinator expediting and moving freight to various locations in the U.S. as well as throughout the world. Bob also used to help in the fishing industry in Oxnard quite a few years ago. He was talking to the owners Andy and Michelle along with Ken Kollwitz (Sunfish DM) and thought he could be helpful in the reservation part of the operation. Now Bob handles all the reservations for the Sunfish. His goal is to be able to sign you up for trips and be able to answer your questions when you call.

Jeff Larson
Divemaster
Jeff is another local diver who has been enjoying the diving in the Southern California waters for the past four years. While newer to the sport he has over 300 logged dives in California and abroad. Jeff enjoys many types of diving including hunting, underwater photography, wreck diving, and underwater sight seeing. Jeff has logged some diverse dives under ice, at altitude, or mapping wrecks and is always looking to begin his next diving adventure. Jeff is dedicated to the safety of our divers and is always available to lend a helping hand to make sure your dives are safe and fun.
